From 6th-14th November, 1914, the 1st East Surrey battalion of 14 Brigade, 5th Division, were in trenches two miles south-east of Laventie in France where they came under sporadic shell and sniper fire during their eight day stay and where James Nunn died from wounds on 9th November. |
